There's two versions of how the term "progress" is used in political discourse.
The general audience is not always savy enough to spot the differences, and the alt-right seeks to undermine left leaning discourse thru this manipulation of double speak.
1. Progress is referred to any movement, forward motion or direction towards a specific goal.
Conservatives oppose this, and know very well they can't call them selves, political Re-gresssives, that simply won't do.
Take America back, make great again, does just that, Regress. Its regressive ideology.
Where we get confused, on purpose, purposely deceived, is where the alt-right states that progress, is forward movement in thier direction further Down this road of regression.
In other words, you can have both left progress and right progress.
Agendas that serve the decentralization of power into the hands of the public many
Or
Centrize that power into the hands of the private few.
One serves itself and destroys the other.
